I thought that to understand what is really happening out here it would be helpful for you all to hear from someone who is in the trenches daily in Ireland. Below is a post from Mike Mullins, Executive Director for Operation Mobilization, here in Ireland. http://ie.om.org

Enjoy what Mike has to say. He truly captured the experience with his words!

Blessings,

As I walked around the practice grounds today and observed the FCA team doing their thing I was almost moved to tears. We have talked about this day and planned it for so long and then to finally see it happen was a wonderful experience. These past few weeks have been a real battle with so many let downs, upsets and unknowns. To see the Lord answer our every need has been so amazing. From a top golf course such as Glasson Hotel and Golf Club giving us the use of the facilities to a local golf shop giving us 2000 golf balls for the week all free of charge, we have seen so many exciting answers to prayer.

I was so blown away today. The layout of the camp stations was so creative and the teaching so professional. I watched as the kids hung on every word spoken by Anders and Ben. This is the first FCA golf camp here in Ireland but also the first golf camp that any of these kids have probably ever attended.

I was impressed also by the attitude and commitment of the camp staff. They really did such a brilliant job with the kids and I thought they really made a huge impression on these kids for the first day. I am convinced that we are going to see lives changed by the end of this week.

The skill levels differed and there were a few out there today who have real potential.  I particularly remember Sean and small thin 10 year old left hander who had the most beautiful swing. I am so excited to have this camp and offer kids such as Sean the chance to improve their game and at the same time hear about the love that God has for them.

Having almost 50 kids sign up for this Christian golf camp is no small thing. It gives a glimpse into the potential for this to grow but also shows how a golf camp like this is hugely attractive to kids and can be be a great way to impact lives, for good. The kids are not only learning life values and hearing about the love of God they are seeing it being lived out by these instructors.

Everyone from the owners of Glasson Golf club, members of surrounding golf clubs to parents and local media are all buzzing with praise for the camp and staff. Thanks so much for your prayers. Our first day is over and there are three more to go. The battle continues so please continue to pray (with thanksgiving). The best is yet to come.
