In April of 2009, six time European Tour winner and 2006 Ryder Cup co-captain Anders Forsbrand played host to the first ever FCA Golf Camp outside of the United States in partnership with Operation Mobilization of Ireland. Tom and Breda Reid, owners of the beautiful Glasson Hotel and Golf Club, welcomed the two organizations and over fifty campers to their championship facility.

The Glasson Hotel and Golf Club is a 4 star golf hotel located close to Athlone in Westmeath Ireland. Situated just outside the quaint village of Glasson (Goldsmiths ‘village of the roses’), and nestled on the tranquil shores of Lough Ree, Glasson is the ideal host for the Anders Forsbrand Junior Golf Camp. Glasson Hotel and Golf Club has justifiably earned an International reputation as one of the most challenging and scenic golf courses in Ireland. Designed by Ryder Cup star, Christy O’Connor Jnr., the enjoyment of the golfer has always been the undertaking. No matter what your level of golf expertise, the course is cleverly crafted, so you can tee off for a relaxing round while soaking up the Glasson atmosphere, or test your game to championship level.

The course plays up to 7,215 yards from the back of the championship tees. Since it’s inception in 1993, Glasson Golf course has hosted a range of regional & international championship finals. Glasson was the proud host to the European Challenge Tour in August 2007 & 2008, highlighting the caliber of the course.

If you are ever in Westmeath we encourage you to stop in and see Tom & Breda! Say hi to them from the FCA Staff and enjoy their spectacular property. Click on the banner below to learn more about the Glasson Hotel & Golf Club.

Challenging instruction from college and professional coaches and athletes—Campers will receive instruction in groups and possibly in one-on-one settings. Not only instruction on physical and mental techniques, but also in spiritual growth.

Great housing and meals—Housing and meals are provided and built into the cost of the camp.

FCA Camp T-shirt—Each camper will receive a T-shirt with this year's camp theme and logo on it.

FCA Student Bible with discussion guides and study helps—The FCA Athlete's Bible is a great resource of the student athlete—a tool campers can take back to their campus and use to spread the gospel. It also makes a great resource that campers can draw from for personal growth.

With all of this free stuff you will also be getting care, instruction, and guidance from some great camp staff!

OM Ireland has existed since 2001 although Irish people have been involved in OM right from the word go, back in the 1960's. Today we have a two-year team working in Buncrana, Co. Donegal, an administrative office in Letterkenny and a public relations and recruiting office in Dublin.

We are excited to see the work having grown from it's humble beginnings just a few year back when Mike Mullins left the Irish Coast Guard to lead the work in Ireland full time.

In 2002 we had our first one-year team working in the Y-Zone in Letterkenny (a youth coffee bar) and making use of the Big Red Bus, mostly around the housing estates in Buncrana. Since then we have had a steady flow of individuals from around the world joining our team for a couple of months up to a couple of years.
