What is the FCA National Scramble Championship? It is a 3-day amateur National Championship golf tournament hosted by the FCA Golf Ministry as an outreach and cultivation event. More than 90 teams from all over the country come to Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, to play in the tournament every year.

Each day is played on a different golf course, one of which is THE PLAYERS Stadium Course. The other two are the Dye's Valley Course and the Ponte Vedra Golf & Country Club at Sawgrass.

The 2008 tournament hailed to be one of the most exciting!  For only the second time in tournament history, a play-off ensued.  The teams began the play-off on the infamous 17th hole on the Stadium Course.  Minnesota Team 2 and Tennessee Team 2 both hit incredible shots and matched with birdies.  On to the 18th hole where Minnesota Team 2 clinched the Gross Division victory by making an uphill right to left eight foot putt.  Arkansas Team 3 was victorious in the Net Division and in the Open Division, Maryland Team 1 prevailed.

Kenn Kington, comedian extrordinaire, shared his unique comedy with a room full of participants and guests at the Friday evening banquet.  You could feel his humor in your bones!  The evening was completed by Brooke Pernice, daughter of PGA TOUR professional, Tom Pernice, Jr., who shared her faith through her music.  A very gifted young lady only 13 years of age.  She was wonderful.

We are looking forward to another exciting year of qualifying tournaments and the 16th National Scramble Championship which will be held November 20-22, 2009.
